McGeoch Lights Up HMS Dauntless
One of the star attractions at DSEi 2011 - London ExCeL from Tuesday 13th to Friday 14th September 2011 - was the
presence of HMS Dauntless, the second of the British Royal Navy's new Type 45 Class Destroyers. She was moored just
behind London City Airport and visitors were ferried out to her in a Thames launch from the main ExCeL quay.
McGeoch Technology has supplied practically all the above and below
deck lighting for the Type 45 Class including General Purpose Trough
Lights, Sodium Lights, Weatherdeck Lights, AEL's (Automatic
Emergency Lanterns) and Cabin Amenity, Bunk, Ceiling and Desk lights.
McGeoch has also supplied man of the junction boxes, cable change
boxes, isolating switches and control and instrumentation switch panels
for the ships.
The first two Type 45 Destroyers - Daring and Dauntless - are now in full
service. The remaining four - Diamond, Dragon, Defender and Duncan -
will be commissioned and come into full service during the next two
years.
The photographs on this page highlight McGeoch's involvement with
